Straight to Residence option for secondary school teachers

Secondary school teachers will move from the Green List Work to Residence pathway to the Straight to Residence pathway.

Eligible teachers will be able to apply for the Straight to Residence (STR) Visa in May.

Overseas secondary school teachers who are eligible will be able to apply for residence from offshore if they have an offer of employment with an accredited employer.

Teachers already working in New Zealand who are eligible will also be able to apply for the STR visa.

The change does not apply to other teacher roles, which will remain on the Green List Work to Residence pathway.
