They are on the search for a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for driving a proactive preventative maintenance programme for their site, leading a team of maintenance technicians.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you may be an experienced technician seeking an opportunity to step up into leadership, or you may have been at this level for a few years already. Your work will involve maximising plant reliability whilst minimising productivity disruption, all while applying continuous improvement across the manufacturing maintenance programme.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Plant reliability: Continuous improvement of plant equipment & processes, asset management plans and supporting the manufacturing team.
- Contractor Management: Identify contractor tasks and support the Maintenance and Inventory Coordinator with onsite contractor management.
- Instrument Management: Supporting the Maintenance and Inventory Coordinator with instrument calibration management.
- Inventory/Purchasing Management: Supporting the Maintenance and Inventory Coordinator with purchasing parts, negotiating terms with suppliers, monitoring maintenance expenditure.
- Human Resources: Managing the day to day Maintenance Team activities, shift cover and overtime requirements, ensuring a well trained and motivated team implements the maintenance plan.
To succeed in this role you need:
- Minimum 5 years trade experience in a heavy/technical industrial manufacturing environment.
- Trade or Tertiary Qualification in mechanical engineering, or NZQA equivalent.
- Experience in leading, or directing work programmes with maintenance teams.
- Diagnostic fault finding skills and process management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple
teams and levels within the business. - Natural ability to engage/mentor/coach and motivate others.
