Information Security Consultant

About the role:

This organisation is seeking an Information Security Consultant who will play a key advisory position. You will collaborate with project teams, architects, and operational leaders to ensure secure solution design and the effective implementation of security controls. You’ll also have an active role in uplifting the overall maturity of information security practices across the organisation through education and proactive engagement.

‍Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert security advisory to project teams and agile release trains.
• Champion a “secure by design” approach across digital initiatives.
• Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the ongoing maintenance of the ICT Risk Register.
• Support the development and execution of security strategy, roadmap, policies, and control frameworks.
• Act as a senior escalation point for security operations, complex incidents, and change requests.
• Promote awareness of security policies and compliance requirements across the organisation.
• Seamless integration of security controls into business and technology initiatives.
• Effective collaboration between enterprise architects and security stakeholders.
• Increased organisational awareness and adoption of security best practices.
• Measurable uplift in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience (10+ years) in Information Security with at least 5 years in advisory or design roles within large, complex environments.
• Strong understanding of secure architecture and Agile delivery practices.
• Thought leadership with excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Solid business acumen and the ability to balance risk with pragmatic delivery.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or equivalent).
