About this role:
In this role, you will oversee negotiations between employers and employees, manage labour disputes, and ensure that the company’s policies comply with labour regulations. This organisation works closely with trade unions, employee representatives, and other stakeholders to negotiate contracts, mediate disputes, and implement policies to promote a positive work environment. The successful person will play a key role in maintaining steady relationships between management and employees by managing labour relations, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations. This role involves assisting with negotiating collective agreements and addressing grievances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the management of collective bargaining negotiations
- Handle employee grievances and disciplinary procedures
- Collective bargaining processes
- Conduct investigations into workplace issues and provide recommendations
- Monitor industrial disputes, strikes and other work stoppages and prevent /mitigate impact
We are looking for the following experience:
- 5-7 years minimum experience
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand labour laws, collective bargaining processes
- Best practice employee relations
- Expertise in handling employee disputes, grievances and conflict resolution
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience
- Experience dealing with Trade Unions and employee reps
- Work closely with management, employees and unions
- Good familiarity with dispute resolution mechanisms- arbitration/mediation
