About this role:
This organisation is seeking a passionate Head Chef to lead their busy farm cafe kitchen. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly motivated to create unique experiences for their customers. You will have strong leadership skills, be an excellent communicator, and have proven experience managing food and wage costs. Experience with a la carte dining and baking is a must.
The kitchen is small, fast-paced, and experiences high demand during the summer months. You will also have access to an endless supply of fresh and frozen berries to create a variety of berry-based dishes and desserts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consistently deliver high standards of food
- Manage a small team
- Work with Management to improve the experience of guests
- Ensure sound financial performance through labour management and food cost control
- Run efficient food storage, prep and rotation systems
- Run a clean and organised operation that meets and exceeds health & safety standards
- Create seasonal dishes and menus
Requirements:
- Tertiary Qualification or Culinary Diploma min. Level 4. or equivalent by on-the-job training
- At least 3+ years' experience as a Head Chef
- Proven leadership or management experience including an ability to delegate and monitor progress
- Passionate about producing great food in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Certificates in Food Safety
- Reliable transport and clean driver's license
- Clear criminal record and consent to drug test
- Experience in meeting food costs and managing wage costs
- Experience with a la carte dining as well as function catering
