Fleet Team Leader

About this role:

As our Fleet Team Leader, you'll drive performance, productivity, and efficiency in vehicle movement, ensuring our fleet is always in the right place at the right time. Your leadership will ensure timely repairs, compliance renewals, and smooth processes, minimising delays for our customers.

What you'll do:

  • Lead & Manage: Oversee a team of 10, ensuring timely motorhome relocations and seamless operations
  • Collaborate: Work closely with Scheduling, Workshop, Customer Service, and other teams to optimise vehicle assignments and communication, including managing off-fleet vehicles (pending repair) and site movements
  • Staff Processes & Planning: Oversee attendance, rosters, and training, including developing Standard Operating Procedures for drivers. Efficiently allocate workload to meet daily staffing goals, conduct vehicle stocktakes, and manage significant computer-based tasks
  • Train & Develop: Provide feedback and coaching to enhance team performance
  • Monitor & Evaluate: Keep an eye on daily deliveries and workflow, developing action plans as needed
  • Fleet Excellence: Plan vehicle returns, manage incidents, and maximise fleet availability. Efficiently allocate vehicles, adjust vehicle assignments based on vehicle standards and changes, and demonstrate agility, flexibility and quick problem-solving to address unforeseen challenges. Support the Fleet/Scheduling Team Leader with advanced vehicle allocation as needed
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Health & Safety: Promote a safe work environment and manage all health and safety procedures

What we're looking for:

  • Full, clean driver's license
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technical knowledge of vehicles and systems
  • Positive, proactive attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems
  • Team player with flexibility and reliability
  • Flexibility to work on a roster, including weekends and public holidays
