About this role:
This role is centred on managing cloud infrastructure, security, and automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support software engineering teams. As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining secure, scalable, and efficient cloud environments while streamlining workflows through automation. You will collaborate with development teams to tackle infrastructure challenges and ensure system reliability.
- Cloud Security Management: Implement and enforce security policies to protect cloud systems and ensure data integrity.
- Monitoring & Incident Response: Track cloud resources and logs to detect vulnerabilities, rectify misconfigurations, and optimize system performance.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and address potential risks in cloud environments.
- Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Work alongside engineering teams to resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring a secure, high-performing, and reliable cloud setup.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to propose and implement innovative solutions.
- Automation & Best Practices: Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform while mentoring teams on best practices for cloud infrastructure management.
What you'll need:
- At least 3 years of experience managing cloud platforms (preferably Azure) with expertise in cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, routing, DNS, and VPNs.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, encryption, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation, with practical experience using cloud security and compliance tools.
- Proficiency in Terraform and other IaC methodologies, along with experience in automation tools like Ansible and CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as CI/CD pipeline integration for automated infrastructure management.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across teams, mentor junior staff, and advocate for best practices in cloud infrastructure security.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) are highly desirable.
