Research and Development Manager

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing, leading, and organizing the research and development team for the research, development and improvement of product and production processes in the area of Coatings, with a focus on epoxies in the area of Construction and Adhesives.

Research and Development Manager

• Spearheaded the creation of the Bills of Material (BOM) for entry to SAP system.
• Spearhead the creation of Technical Specification, production procedure and processes.
• Supervises Quality Control, QC processes and production processes and procedures.
• Heads-up on the SDS and TDS documentation.

Senior R&D Chemist

Responsible for research, development and improvement of product and production process. Assists in the updating of materials/procedures/quality/product standards and specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts research, test and experiments using chemical theories, materials behavior and analysis techniques to develop new or improve/ modify existing products, processes and technology with the end view of enhancing the company's capability to cope with changing industry trends and competitiveness.
• Develops or assists in the development of specially formulated products that will meet the requirements of a specific client using new, existing or modified processes or materials.
• Conducts laboratory testing and experiments on existing or proposed products/materials in order to determine:

1. Suitability of proposed substitute materials and/or process for existing products.
2. Suitability of existing and/or proposed products for varying uses.
3. Characteristics/specifications of materials, particularly incoming materials, for new or improved products.

• Assists in the establishment of specifications for any new or improved product approved for production based on research results.
• Prepares product samples and conducts test runs to determine the new/improved product adaptability to set process. Coordinates closely with Production and Quality Control to determine potential problems that may arise.Makes the necessary adjustments/revisions needed to achieve results.
• Keeps abreast with current developments and practices in the industry so that the best technology can be evaluated and incorporated into the company’s existing operation and product lines.
• Prepares report on evaluation and studies conducted/undertaken and ensures comprehensive documentation of such to provide adequate data to support recommendations submitted for approval of concerned parties.
• Performs other tasks, assignments and instructions as may be given from time to time.
