Assistant Engineer (Mechanical)

  • Maintain and update records for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and major overhauls of generator engines.
  • Attend major overhauls for a range of generator engines, including Perkins, Deutz, Mtu, Volvo, Cummins, and Yanmar.
  • Investigate and identify root causes of engine breakdowns and implement corrective measures to address non-conformities.
  • Collaborate with team members and provide support to ensure the smooth execution of daily operations.
  • Complete assigned tasks within specified deadlines and timeframes.
  • Make timely and informed decisions to address operational challenges effectively.
  • Supervise and motivate team members, fostering an open and consultative work environment to maximise their potential.
  • Manage inventory for running spare parts and maintain accurate records.
  • Implement and uphold customer-specific quality management criteria to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Review QMS documentation of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure alignment with the company's QMS.
  • Participate actively in Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and control activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with team members and support colleagues to achieve daily operational objectives.
  • Report progress and updates to the General Manager on a regular basis.

Engine Room Artificer (Marine Engineer)

  • Perform operations maintenance and conduct major overhauls of all machinery and equipment onboard.
  • Maintain & repair marine engines, propulsion systems, generators, air compressors, & perform calibrations & alignments.
  • Handle hydraulic and pneumatic systems and maintain industrial safety protocols, fire fighting, and fire prevention measures.
  • Demonstrate expertise in shipyard practices, including new machinery installation, refits & routine underwater maintenance.
  • Manage running spare parts, monitor supply inventories, and maintain comprehensive record-keeping.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various types of propulsion systems to ensure their proper functioning.
  • Install motors, gearboxes, bearings, and other mechanical equipment, including electro-hydraulic steering systems.
  • Possess a sound knowledge of domestic pumps, firefighting machinery, & equipment, including their designs, uses & repairs.
  • Ensure the operative maintenance of all utility systems, including water and gas supplies.
  • Undergo rigorous training in firefighting and damage control exercises for different types of fires.
  • Maintain a strong background in health and safety protocols and actively enforce the safety management system.
